Burton Albion 0-4 Oxford United

Mark Harris' double helped push Oxford back into the League One play-off places as they ruthlessly beat Burton.

A long throw from Tom Hamer into the Oxford box was cleared and, when Tolaji Bola misjudged his header on halfway, Harris was able to race away, round keeper Max Crocombe and slot home midway through the first half for the opener.

The Welsh forward continued to torment the Brewers defence, adding a second early in the second half by bundling the ball in from eight yards out.

Josh Murphy grabbed a well-deserved goal shortly afterwards, driving from his own half to score on the counter-attack.

And, as Albion's defence capitulated, substitute James Henry added a fourth from inside the box, dispossessing Ryan Sweeney before firing into the bottom corner.

The margin of defeat pushed Albion into the bottom four on goal difference after Port Vale's point at Wigan.

I never thought I’d be grateful to Reading, but when they scored their equaliser today and propelled Oxford back into the playoffs I cheered!

Positive last two performances, all be it against two absolutely terrible teams that are going to have to drastically improve if they are going to stay up. Does boost our confidence though, going into the most important three games of the regular season. Let's get the Yellow Army roaring in those next three, and carry us into the play-offs. COYY

Des gets two wins on the trot for the first time in his Oxford career. Our confidence will have been given a much-needed boost, but we do need to keep things in perspective. Burton, like Fleetwood, absolutely gifted us the three points today. There are some tougher tests coming up for us, starting next Saturday… Hopefully we can find a way to carry our current momentum forward. COYY

Burton are certainly "out of Derby's shadow now", as their ex-manager said. As far out of the Rams' shadow as much as they're in the deepest doo-doo now. The ghosts of Albion cast no shadow themselves now!

I had us down for a draw with Shrewsbury, and beating both Fleetwood and Burton. The winning margin of the back to back wins has created a positve mood. I hope my remaining predictions are wrong as I have us collecting just 4 more points and I don't think 74 points will be enough. The Lincoln match is the deal maker. A win against them and I think maybe one win from elsewhere might be enough
